Unveiling Africa's Natural Splendor: Selous Game Reserve

Selous Game Reserve is an immense area of protected wilderness that has remained untouched for thousands of years. Also, the largest protected wet wilderness area in Africa. It is the largest Game Reserve and one of favorite game viewing areas in Africa.


SELOUS GAME RESERVE located in the South of Tanzania and four times the size of Serenget i. A large area of the reserve is drained by the Rufiji River. There are over 2,000 species of plants, over 430 species of birds, and 60 species of mammals, and plenty of wildlife including Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos and Crocodiles.

Day 1: Flight to Selous Game Reserve – Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast we depart to Zanzibar Airport for your domestic flight to Selous, upon your arrival at Mtemere airstrip; you will be met by our driver today you will have a full day of game drive in Selous game reserve, with picnic lunch. With an area of around 50,000sq km, (5% of Tanzania’s land surface) Selous game reserve is one of the largest protected areas in the world. Its size is stunning, bigger than Switzerland or Denmark, uninhabited and little touched by human interference. Visitors therefore find themselves in a pristine wilderness far away from the trodden tourist routes. Its wildlife (including some few remaining Black rhinos and other few BIG 5 ANIMALS) are very spectacular. Later transfer to the lodge for check-in and overnight.

    In the morning after breakfast leave for Game drive and visit river Rufiji for an adventurous boat safari along the great river Rufiji, with the chance of spotting hippo, crocodile and variety of birds as you enjoy the spectacular views followed with safari culture tour where you will learn the Tanzania real culture before transferred to Mtemere airstrip for your departure flight to Zanzibar.
